Trial 1 (1997): mistrial - prosecutors revealed that a key witness had been in jail at the time of the crime

Trial 2 (1997): conviction overturned in 2002 -- error to admit testimony by police detective about defendant's leadership qualities. State v. Everybodytalksabout, 145 Wn.2d 456, 39 P.3d 294, Findlaw (2002).
