A former-prostitute-turned-hitwoman was sentenced this morning to 20 years in prison nearly three decades after she told a prosecutor that she shot and killed a South Seattle auto mechanic because she heard his death was worth $10,000.A large part of the story has to do with the flow of information -- should the prosecutor the hitwoman went to seeking immunity have told others about her statements? When?
From 2005 to 2015 this blog presented news items and resources relating to trial advocacy and the legal system, with a focus on Washington State. It was developed to support the Trial Advocacy Program at the University of Washington School of Law, but broadened to include appellate practice, the courts, access to justice, and related topics. It is no longer active.
